In a continuing shake-up of who will be the policy-makers for national security, Steve Bannon is out, and Rick Perry is in. This dovetails nicely with Trump’s hobbling of the Energy Department and progress toward climate change, as Perry ran on a platform that included that department as one he’d abolish. Statesman reports:
“Adding Perry to the NSC’s principals committee now brings the cabinet official in charge of the nation’s nuclear stockpile into the fold. The lion’s share of the Energy Department’s budget goes toward the National Nuclear Security Administration, which deals with the military application of nuclear science.”
Further proof that our current government isn’t about what you know, just who you know.
